By OK do you mean "right" or "just"?

Because I will agree with you. It isn't fair nor is it right in that sense.

But then again, I don't believe in that sort of reasoning behind choices for targets.

I understand completely where you are coming from, I think. I am guessing that you and I would disagree on how a guild should choose its targets. Which is cool, disagreement is good for business in a war game.

As for the WAY they chose to respond, sure there were more limited ways to respond to this problem, crushing Sorrow's kingdom or ALL scummers in DEM would have been a good start. But I am not Zann, so I won't say what his strategy should be. He is a much better GM than me, so I trust what he did was done for the right reason.

The deal is thus, TGH wants to win. They also want people to know not to scum their kingdoms for cash as some sort of gigantic cash cow. I would say Zann is being proactive. He is trying to ensure that the guild he has sitting there, waiting to get a target, doesn't get used as a sack lunch for someone in another war.

Making this attack gets him land and makes a powerful statement:

If you loot or admit to looting TGH, your entire guild may be hit.

I think that is a fair statement that the good folks at TGH would be willing to back up.

Smart move in my mind.

Anyone else notice it is feeling like a real gritty war game?
I still think I would make a great pope.

You are probably correct Reylan. We probably would disagree on how to run a guild. Now I'm not now, nor would I ever suggest that a GM shouldn't look out for his guild. But being in the position TGH was, with all the advantages(minus some cash), sometimes you gotta look at the human factor. And the fact that this is just a game. Do I want to do something that under almost ever circumstance is gonna be considered despicable? My answer would be no 100% of the time, ergo I disagree with the attack.

There were other ways to send a "message" without crushing a guild half thier size for 250 million. They wanted to play the bullies. Well, sometimes bullies get punched back.

nymph doesnt have to publically agree or disagree. and its unfair to single him out
he will be loyal to the guild leaders and decisions regardless. anyone who knows him would expect nothing else.
dont hold him responsible for what tgh leaders decided to do
if anything u should admire him for following his gms decisons! sometimes thats harder than u know.

if u wanna yell at someone in tgh, yell at the guild leaders. dont blame the players for their loyalty.

Well stated....

It could also be part of the process to note that doing nothing about a guild and essentially allowing them cash to fund a war would be.....assisting them in a win when otherwise it may not have been possible.

Nymph is one of the best players i have been around he plays with honor. but dont piss him off.

V is right in what she says about him. he has played for her before as well as others.

but there is no reason to single him out you will only get the short end of the stick.

as for the hit on Dem this was a hit you tell them they were wrong nothing more. they hit TGH useing the same reasoning because of a scout it seems TGH has been hit alot for that reason. because of a scout and no other proof of being looted or burnt.

If you want to see real chaos ill let ED run the guild .

Sartek you can be mad at me or not . but this is tell telling people we have had enough of being nice we have been hit more then any other guild in the game. we have been at war more then any other guild. you talk about the human factor well you dont think we get tired of being hit for every made up reason in the book. well we decided we arent going to sit and take it up the ass.

So if you all want to yell at anyone yell at me.

Let me ask this question.

GuildA and GuildB are at war. GuildC is not.

What is the difference between GuildA scouting GuildC, or GuildC scouting both GuildA and or GuildB?

To further the question, whats the difference between GuildC scouting GuildD who is also not involved in this conflict, or the question above?

From what I'm reading, if GuildA scouts GuildC, thats justification for GuildC, no matter the numbers or how much of a downhit it is, to join the war. But if GuildC scouts either GuildA, GuildB, or GuildD, that is ok.

It seems to me certain guilds make the rules up as they go. But hey, its a war game. Just curious what TGH would do if Angelique and Barnabas decided to pound them into the ground for the rest of the age.

Well....... As I thought. All you regulars are giving them a "Free-Pass" on the boards for doing this. There is definitely some "double-standards" going around here. MY ASS that what they did is justifiable. NOWAY we could have done this and get away with it. NOWAY>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

But ..that's how it goes in this game I guess.

lol Nymph, but isn't that the point of the game?

Every age or so people bring up this honor crap. Code of Conduct and the "rules" for waging war in the game. I've repeatedly said there are no rules save for the ones you agree too when you create an account, and the ones posted here in the forum. The unwritten rules that you all adhere too are just that, unwritten rules. But those rules bend and shift depending on who is the aggressor, and what they can get away with. One age, you cross-faith alliance and punish a guild for hitting down on another, or hitting with superior numbers. The next age, you let it go, or claim its up to the faith involved to take care of it.

In this very thread a much larger guild attacks a smaller guild, already at war for "scouting" and then simply assuming that said scout was done at or around the time that supposedly there was looting involved. I won't claim to be the greatest scummer. But typically when you are going at a guild with the intention of looting...you scout your targets. Then you wait, sometimes an hour or so, before you loot. You don't loot, then scout, then loot again. Or scout, get hung, then loot. TGH knows this, Zann knows it, you Nymph know it, Ed knows it and you know Sorrow and DEM know that. Yet you hit them anyway, with superior numbers, while at war - going against one of those 'unwritten rules' that had the tables been turned you would be in here arguing the same exact arguement DEM is, and calling for all kinds of hell to be brought against the offending guild.

Of course, its a war game above and beyond anything else. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Talon,

Previously in this thread you were calling for "banishment" for hits like this. Try not to take this personally as I do not mean it as such (although I've heard rumors you've already quit and left the game) - but I don't think you've really grasped how the game is played since you have returned. There is no admin intervention in this game unless a rule has been broken, and there are no rules governing how you play the game or what justifies a hit or not. You either multi-account and thus cheat and are banned, or you play your kingdoms as you see fit and its up to the guild masters and faith leaders to determine the style of play.

As I pointed out every age code of conduct comes up, and every age the same answer is given - ITS UP TO THE PLAYERS. Your own GM came in here and publically stated that the rest of Angy should not retaliate against TGH. Why would they argue against that, or go against that? He's the GM of DEM, he's asking them to stay out while you are in here bitching at them for 'giving TGH a free pass'. I'm amazed that you all in DEM wonder why there is so much animosity towards you, this is the very reason!

Honestly, it sounds like you need to talk amungst yourself and clean up your own house because nobody in DEM seems to know what the other is doing. Just my observations

You take it too personally Talon. People do this shit frequently, but they also pay for it in spades frequently.

Remember, you can just as easily do to TGH what TGH did to you hehe

lets all hit SD

but all in all TGh doesnt really expect to gain alot from this. either we get taken out or we dont not like it is anything new to us.

it seems everyones way of looking at things are not the same. everyone has there own honor code some dont.

Decae said once he wanted to see chaos and wars not lets be nice all the time.

We all want to try and not piss another guild off most of the time so people dont quit.(i know i get pissed enough not as much as i used to ) but i had to learn this isnt personal this is a game and all i have to do is sit back and cool off a bit and have some fun. I get mad when we get hit most gms do but it seems we stay here.

everyone seems to think we hit DEm because of one scout this isnt true. the scribe that was sent more or less said they were looting us. if it was worded differantly then we wouldnt have hit them. we would have hit SD instead.

You know if I even did send a scribe saying "Sorry wrong target" it still wouldn't have mattered. If any other Angie would of been caught scouting one of their guilds, it would of been different I bet.

Mr Ed knows we didn't take the cash, Ordo knows we didn't take the cash either. Because we were scouted and it would of been easy to see if we had.

That said, I was pissed last night and I'm sorry what I said about Nymph and to him.

I still think it was a shitty excuse to hit us. Really shitty. But that's their right. Like DEM has been singled out for making some bad calls in the game. I just hope TGH gets their just deserts also.

It would be awesome if Angie did attack them for what happened! But I know that won't happen.

If more people leave DEM or quit playing the game it wasn't this instance that caused it. There are many factors leading to that call and I would just say this was the icing on the cake. But not the reason.

Back when I played, I can remember some wars like this and it seems the whole faiths backed each other up and everyone was getting bitch slapped left and right. Almost seemed more fun then. Less politics and more bloodshed. Lines were drawn and clear. 3 colors. Red, gold and blue. It was entire faiths duking it out. And yes sometimes faith's combined to take down a larger foe. I was there for the first merging of Angie and Leto. hehe And boy did the shit hit the fan. But it was fun!

But now the game is run a bit different. And that's fine times change.

I think your full of shit. You wanted easy land and you took it. It doesn't matter how its worded. "Sorry hit the wrong number, sorry had a seizure at the keyboard and my head smashed into the keyboard, sorry my kid was hammering on the keys" ect... You would of seen we were at war and known why I was there.

Same shit has happened to us. Everyone getting looted, I catch someone scouting, look they are at war. If we would of jumped into a war like you did. WE would of been gang banged in an instant. I see it happening in other guilds too. I see posts here and there saying " If your caught in our kingdoms again we will attack you" warnings. Public finger pointing. You chose to do things differently. And in my eye and hopefully others they will see it was wrong. You did it cause you knew you were big enough to do it.

So you can keep up the story your weaving but it's plainly a crock of shit.

Oh a side note... DEM threads are much more exciting then the average 2 page bullshit, boring, booger flinging, boob grabbing war threads I've seen thus far.

And just to throw my 2 cents in.

When my guild is at war, we use every turn we have to fight the guild we are at war with.

This makes sense for 2 reasons.

1. Hell, we are trying to win a war!

2. Why make ourselves vulnerable to a third guild when we are least prepared to deal with it?

The ONLY possible exception would be if we needed cash desparately AND saw a fat bank on the UB that we KNEW BEYOND DOUBT we could loot without getting cought, sadly this has never happened but if it did...

And finally, for the record:

If I lost 250 million gold first I would feel STUPID. If I lost 250 million gold to DEM I would feel (insert your own opinion here). If I lost 250 million gold to a guild at war, I would feel really stupid and try to loot it back and kill them after their war was over.

I would in NO WAY get any satisfaction from attacking a guild at war. I would feel perfectly justified in hitting them like 10 seconds after they declared peace, but while they are already fighting, just wouldn't do it for me.

hmmm. DEM that is one pickle i wouldnt want.

You scout a guild looking for cash that you arent at war with, and be stupid and scrib that your looking for cash,. We get looted and you feign innence. Please. you need to stand and take whatever wrath there is going to come from it.

Fuck, if i would havde done that to ordo, i would expect ordo to hit TGH for it. And knowing seska the way i do, he would try everything he could to pay us back.

war the fuck on, and get ready... you might need to brace yourselves for what is coming... and i dont think it will be, um.. gentle
