I remember how I used to play all through middle school and as I learned more about the game, I'd get increasingly frustrated at the guilds I was in cause I knew there was a better way to play. So finally when Evernight started and we moved from Monarchy, I saw my chance.

It must have been my freshman or sophomore year in high school, 2001 maybe, and I remember writing the story of Divine Light in my latin class instead of paying attention, heh, with strains of Eminem's "Stan" (specifically, Dido's chorus from her song Thank U) echoing in my head. I was inspired.

I remember Counselor saying if I ever made a guild he would never leave it. I remember him wishing he could be part of a guild that would play the way he knew how a guild could be. And I knew, -knew-, that Divine Light would be that guild.

So I dragged him over. I dragged Chains over from guilds, and together they became my confidants, my co-conspirators.

We started small, less than 15 of us, but as the ages went on, our popularity grew and we hovered mostly around 50, for a long time the largest guild in the game, period. Over the years we were active, over a hundred people have played for my guild.

This is your chance to say you were part of something that holds a special place in my heart. And this my chance to say thank you.

Divine Light was one of the guilds that made Maxim great.. .. although I remembered one time Calis played me like a out of tune guitar.. , I still haven't paid you back for that..

I was never really sure when we started that little guild, if grown men would take orders from a 14 year old or not, but they always love Calis. =}

Speaking of, I wonder if BL Ever got mad at me for stealing you from them ? :}

Divine Light was the best. I remember all the nights we sat and planned wars and we had to go against like 4 other guilds just to make it fair. Then everyone would complain that we weren't hitting fairly and they'd try to take us out for it. And I don't remember a single war chat that didn't get completely out of hand. I wonder how many people we fisted????

And of course we couldn't forget Calis' girlfriend, who was so innocent in those chats, which made it all the more fun. Every war chat lasted like 3 hours.

Calis is right....the idea behind running DL was amazing. We had Calis, who could charm just about anyone and keep the guild running smooth. We had Chains, who was paranoid about everyone and always kept the guild prepared. I don't exactly know what I did....I think my job was to play comic relief and provoke guilds to attack us.

Oh, and Calis? You suck for being able to write a better charter than me while doing it in class when I worked on mine for ages at night. But I found the cool picture for the banner.

It was, bar none, the most fun I ever had in any guild.

There is no way in the world I could pass this thread and not recognize my affiliation of one the greater guilds. Even with the years I took off from the game Calis and Chains remained 2 of the names whose opinions I truely paid heed to, hats off to you buddy, for being a legend in your own time.

Divine Light was the best guild I was ever in, and it was definitely the most fun I had playing Canon. I miss you guys...even chains. =P

I loved Divine Light, we kicked ass! Calis was the shiet! I went as Optimo then, and switched to Lunatic.[/quote]
