 Comments and Questions (OOC)
Our previous questions thread seems to have run its course. In addition, it occurred to us that there didn't seem to be any good reason why we should have two separate threads for questions and comments. So here we are! The new Comments/Questions thread.
Oh, and if anyone would like to look at it, the old questions thread can be found here:
The Old Questions Thread
Anyway, fire away, and keep it civil in here.

Well personally Chains my characters often refer to the old Gods and prophets. What happened in those times is part of what made my characters what they are today so I'm not about to completely ignore those times.
Last that I heard it was ok to mention them just not worship them. Not sure what the rules are about it now but I wouldn't think that they would have changed.
*prepares to be proved completely wrong*

Ehm.. I was wondering if it could be, in the future, possible to declare war on more than one guild :D *poit*
It would make the wars a lot more neatly arranged on the war-screen...erf...although people could ofcourse check TB.. :D

You can declare on more than one, just not formally in-game. Just attack them and say, "We're at war with you."
Easy enough.

In this thread:

I posted today, but don't see the post. If I try to REPLY again, I can see the post on the condensed version of the thread that accompanies the Reply box.
Not quite sure what, if anything, to do about this.

Don't post bug reports. They should be sent to bugs@evernight.com
This is a problem we're aware of. I believe we're slated to fix that some time this weekend.

*Can we please have more turns per hour again and more turns in total?
*The annoying difficulties (losing money, buildings disappearing, unable to inspire) AND the difficulties with the posting counter makes playing almost impossible at this moment...
i know that at least 90% of my members have posted twice this week and only 10% so far have turns
I hope to be able to attack another guild in a few days
If gameplay stays like this in the next days then i think a lot of the players in my guild will delete there kingdoms.
And i guess players is what we need to be able to play a game???

Taken from the page that you get when you click to log into your maxim kingdom.
Quote: Maxim Info (11/24)
Welcome to Maxim, a ever-changing world of roleplay. Be advised that Maxim is an involved game. You are required to make two posts a week in the Maxim Forum of Tempers Ball. Posts must be in roleplay format, unless made in a designated OOC thread. OOC threads are created by staff (Voice or Seer) and have specific purposes. You can generally note by the title of the thread. The post checker runs from Sunday to Sunday, so make your two posts prior to then!
You have to scroll down this page until you can click and finally get into your kingdom so the chances of never seeing it are pretty non-existent
[oops.. quick edit, that'll teach me not to read so quickly.. if what you say is true, Bat.. that 90% of your members have posted then I'm guessing that they should probably email admin about it providing links to their posts.
At least.. that's what I would do]]

If you have members that are indeed posting, and still being penalized, I'd wager they have alts not attached to their account. If their posting alt(s) are on the list here, that is most definitely the reason.
Each member of your guild can go to the "Posting" page in their account manager to see which alts are attached to thier main login name. If they use alts they don't see on that page, they should e-mail SoulDemon to get the accounts attached.
You are all able to use calming chant, the spell is successful more often than not.

I haven't been having any difficulties with either the turn rate or the leprechaun event. If you've played Maxim / Mo'pri, you should be used to stuff like this. This one is actually quite gentle. And since SD has been talking about whose alts are screwed up for over a month now, complaints about that seem pretty invalid.
I'd like to use this post to thank the Canon staff for this series of Maxim changes. The event has been great, reminding me of the classic days, and hopefully the post counter check will trim out people here for the wrong reason. We really appreciate the work you've put into this.

yeah, yeah like in the old days, 4 turns an hour, 104 max, half of the guilds at 0 turns an hour, and never had so many players like now not involved in wars.
But certainly the roleplay now is better then ever!
And yes the alt stuff thing was announced many days ago but you know how people are...
i find this very annoying and i don't think i can keep the members in my guild when they cannot play even when they have posted the last few days.
i lost a very active member but she didn't rp...she simply deleted
...sighs...her own damn fault
i certainly liked it in the old days...i mean when you start wars with 104 turns max you cannot even break a kingdom when they have forts...so for now we stay at peace with everyone. You cannot even build a decent kingdom with no turns and 104 turns a day

Your complaints are invalid. If your guys are at 0 turns, then they should learn to follow the rules. Building a good kingdom with 4/104 is a piece of cake -- I haven't got a clue what your problem is. And when we declared war on 2 guilds, with only half our guild or less showing up for the strike, we still got in an immensely powerful first strike. But, I guess not everyone can handle slight changes.

Ok I dont know if I am posting this in the right area but I need to know.
Up untill today my Land in Maxim I was getting 104 turns this morning I logged on and had 132, then I went and voted and got 5 more turns.
Did max turns change in Maxim? or If you make your required post and maybe more will your turns increase?
Why i am asking this is I cant find anything about it in game changes and if its a bug I dont want to give myself any unfair advantage.

Bedow the turn rate and Max turns of Maxim are likely to change at any time that the game Admin feels like changing it Both have increased at the moment, but who knows maybe next week they'll be right down again!
Maxim isn't like the other games who stay static in terms of turn rate etc, it's forever changing and evolving, catching those of us who play it off-guard if it can

If you make more than two posts during the week, this does not have any effect on your turns in game. What Lyssia said.
Regardless of this, I would hope people aren't just posting the bare minimum since anything more "won't help." This is more or less completely missing the spirit of Maxim.

Greeting Lords and Ladies,
recently I have been resettling in the lands of Maxim and though my estates are still considered fairly small to non-existent, I have been trying to study the lands, its cultures, its traditions. Much has changed since Mo'Pri I noticed. New races, new effects in game etc.
My question concerns these changes. I remember tomes of wisdom existing in the old days, portraiting the various races and inhabitants of the countryside. I recall fairly detailed descriptions of both centaur and elemental units, even the sidhe we're described lively. Some sort of background map happened to exist as well. Favouring consistency in my post, I'd like to inquire if any comparable tomes exist in these days. I came across a short description of Droben units in NPA while searching, but haven't found anything similar or more elaborated.
In short (and shall we say, less elaborately written), do we have any more information or background on the world of Maxim then the story provided at 'kingdom creation', or am I so unused to freeform RPing now that I've forgotten we have to make those up ourselves.
I humbly thank you for reading, any comments/answers are greatly appreciated.
[edit]An accidental trial and error session with urls in-server uncovered this link, which gave me some info... any other available? [/edit]

Welcome back to the lands Lord Daron *smiles*
I'll try and answer your questions as best I can. Firstly as far as I am aware there is no current map of the isle of Maxim/Tonan, though it has been suggested often enough. The last one that I remember being created was around the spring of 2001 by JoT, if my memory serves me correctly.
As for descriptions of the races, well other than the Droben it is pretty much open to your own interpretation of it. I tend to have set ideas about how any of my characters, from whatever race, tend to look like and I have no doubt that those ideas may be very different to other peoples. If you look through the old threads in NPA you might find a few asking a very similar question to your own about races descriptions. In all those threads that I remember it was very much a case of "well we have descriptions for the Droben and the rest we can make up", though of course there's nothing to stop your tinkering around with the Droben descriptions if you wish.
After all this is free-form rp, got to love it *grins*

Milady, though you answers are unfortunately not what I hoped, on the other hand it means I can make more up myself *weg*.
Your post brought a memory back from one of the darker corners of me mind, showing that I have the old race descriptions + map in two formats lying around on a website/HD. Those will serve me well while outlining my characters. I think you bringing it up. I'll try and contact JoT, see if I can convince him to come play again and make a new map.
I thanks you indeed, may Intop illuminate your path while it winds to its destiny.
