SJ laughed seeing how red Katie was getting and he leaned and whispered something to his wife. Then he got a look in his eyes and he grinned.

Now tell me you would rather see how red Katie Joy can get than do that with me, and guess I will just go spend more time with the guys outside. Princess Sarabella I almost forgot Jackson was looking to speak with you.

Quinn came in the room he looked around with a bit of a grin. He went over to his wife and kissed her.

And just how many of our secrets have you been telling them love? And damn how much of that stuff did you drink. Cyranda you know that Katie can not drink like the rest of you can. So just how much did you give her this time? As far as how many beds we broke well it is a good thing that I can fix them because if someone else had to fix them we would be going broke by now. By the way Winter might want to have Lucky come by the shop the new frame is made for your bed. Reinforced with as much as I could. SJ and Pixie well i swear you just need to put the bed. Elder yours is almost ready as well, you all need to stop breaking beds or we are going to start charging double to fix them. I do have other things to work on in the shop you know.

He went and brought her up with an arm around her and grinned.

Now if you all do not mind I am going to go take my wife home and see just how much you have given her to drink. Can always tell by how adventurous she gets when we are alone. Last time I almost did not make it to work the following morning.

Katie Joy tangled herself up in her Equinoxs' arms and kissed his neck forgetting for a few minutes that they weren't exactly alone when Abigale started coughing and tilted her head at Winter.
Blame that one over there... you know that coffee she makes with that mint? Katies had a wee bit too much I think...
Katie Joy started shaking her head.
No I have not. Everyone thinks I'm so proper and innocent but you know I'm not don't you my Quinn?
Katie ended up untangling herself from her husband and stood in front of him with her hands on her hips and her head tilted looking a little confused.
What do you mean you almost didn't make it into work the next morning? That was my fault how? If I remember right you were the one beg...
Cyranda Janes jaw hit the floor and Janessa dropped her head down on the table Winters hand went to Katies mouth.
Not a damn one of you had better ever and I do mean ever say another thing about my mouth again! Good Gods Quinn how can you live with the little fiend! Wait... don't answer that... and Stryder Joseph Deamons don't you dare think of going an playing with the boys when you have a perfectly good woman right here to play with you hear me!
Winter jerked her hand away from Katie with a shocked look on her face which only made the women in the kitchen laugh even harder.

Janessa lifted her head off the table shaking from trying to keep from laughing again.

Katie Joy stopped Janessa and sent everyone to the floor in yet another fit of laughter.
Pfft. That mint doesn't have a damn thing to do with it, my Quinn doesn't need me sloshed, doesn't need demon blood or anything else to get me riled let me tell you... he's got pure natural talent thank you very much.

He shook his head listening to the women. He grinned slightly.

Katie definitely does not to get sloshed to be rather interesting behind closed doors. Sometimes I wonder what happened to the innocent bride that I married. Then again I like my wife just the way she is. Now she has to decide whether she wants to stand here all night jabbering or if she wants to go home. You know Katie the house is empty and we would be alone there and you could do whatever you want there. Might even let you try what you have been wanting to. Cyranda no one has a big of a mouth as you do. Though I am sure that my brother does not mind. Now for the rest of you, I would suggest you find your husbands and keep yourself out of trouble. Well at least most of you know how to stay out of trouble except for Cyranda.

He grinned and saw SJ carrying Cyranda out.

You know Pix he is right and you have said far worse things than Katie would even think of I am sure. You all behave and Quinn might want to start working on plans for stronger frames got a feeling ours might need replaced in the morning and of course yours. Aidan might need a new one depending on if Nessa can get him away from what he is doing.

Come on Katie let's go home and see just how far down that red on your face goes will have to do some checking to find out.

He waited for her and when she did come he brought her outside to where they could talk. He knew where he could still see Nala from as Nala was still busy playing with Lucky. He took her hand in his and looked at her.

Sara I know you are probably going to have an argument against what I am about to say, that is why I wanted to talk to you while Nala is still busy with Lucky. My Father, Braxton and I talked about it, we are heading to Hallia when you do. I have already talked this over with their majesties I can not let you leave letting you walk into a lion's den basically where you do not know what is going to happen. My father wants to go along because if anything does happen there is going to need to be a healer that can be trusted. Braxton for another person that can be trusted. My father already slipped off and got us a place to stay there. I know you would be concerned about our safety but it is yours and Nala safety that concerns me. I care about both of you too much to let anything happen to you. I also know Nala is attached to me, and it will break her heart if I do not go with. We are going either way, Ellysia already tried the you will be Queen once you return and your orders will have to be followed. So we might not be able to stay at the palace we do have a place to stay that is close by in case of trouble, and since we will be just visitors to your realm there is not much that could really be done about it.

He smiled at her and took her had and leaned and kissed her.

Plus I am not willing to let you or Nala go without me.

Sara had her serious face on, she understood to a point why Jackson wanted to return to Hallia with her and Nala, and for a moment she thought about fighting him tooth and nail over the announcement he laid at her feet but then it occurred to her that Hallia was going to be in utter turmoil and Ellysia could use some extra eyes. She wasn't as concerned for herself as she was for Nala, if anyone learned her true parentage chaos would ensue even more than it already had.
Of course I am concerned for the safety of you and your family, this is no light undertaking Jackson, I do not want to see anymore harm come to you, but I have a confession to make, my concerns for Nala run deeper. Please don't think it selfish of me, but she needs to be protected yet still allowed to be a little girl, nothing can touch her Jackson, she needs as many people surrounding her that will do anything to keep her safe as I can put around her. Don't worry for me... Nala is who matters... keep her safe Jackson.
Sara looked across the grounds to the little girl laughing and running from the man who was chasing her, Nala it seemed worked her way into the hearts of many of Pallias warriors, but no one it seemed cared for Nala more than Jackson.
I should toss a fit, fight with you and give a list of reasons why this idea of yours is no good, but I know you well enough to realize that it won't matter what I say you will do as please regardless. Nala is attached to you Jackson, that is true and she does not trust any other like she trusts you other than me and Ellysia, I worry thought, what will happen when the dust clears and it is time for you to return here? Will that not break her heart just the same?
Sara went to say more but her words died on her tongue. Jackson bent close to her and kissed her. He kissed her and she felt like she had been sitting soaking in the sun all day. Her breath caught in her throat and she looked up at him wide eyed when he pulled away from her, she brought her hand to her lips still feeling the effects of that kiss and when he let her know he was not willing to let her or Nala go without him she slowly nodded.

He smiled watching her with her stomach the way it was. He loved to watch her knowing that a life they created together was growing inside of her. He kissed her and wrapped his arms around her the best he could.

I think we need to start coming up with names for our child. That still seems so unreal but at the same time so right. You know our child is going to have some of the biggest protectors. Gods help us if it is a girl think of all the men that have taken it on them that you are theirs to protect along with their own children. I am glad you do not have to go parading around with the magics anymore. I like you just the way you are and getting to see you like this is amazing. So have you thought of any names Avery? I was thinking if it is a boy of naming him Bryce Valiant after both his grandfathers. What do you think love?

He smiled and sat down holding her, he was grinning more these days. The days of feeling lost and unwanted had been done away with a lot in part due to the woman that was sitting on him. He looked to her with a grin. He would not say that to her because she would tell him what bullshit it was and whatever else she wanted to say about it. With a grin he laid his head back and smiled.

You know Mom and Dad would have been fussing all over you while pregnant and waiting for the baby. If the baby is a girl I hope she gets more of your looks then mine. So do you want a boy or girl love

You are wrong both of you matter to me. If you did fight me about it as I said we would be staying just outside of the Palace. First one to go from the Palace is going to be Franklin. If one damn person there thinks to raise a hand to either you or Nala it will be me they deal with. I know about Nala, and I know why it is so important to keep her safe. I also know about the plans for the future of Halia. I plan on being there with you, Nala and Ellysia until what is done is done. Then from there we will figure out where things go. I was kind of hoping that when all was said and done, and Halia was with Kayne and Zhulin that you and Nala would come back here with me. I know it has not been that long and all but I love you Sarabella and that is why I want to keep you safe. I love Nala she is a remarkable little girl and I was thinking that maybe we could see where things would lead.

He looked at her his eyes searching hers hoping and waiting for an answer hoping it would be the answer that he wanted to have. He grinned at her and kissed her near the ear.

I know you would not want me in the position I am putting myself in but who better to protect you and Nala than someone that loves both of you. Kiara and Losa both know this is a big undertaking. Though I think what we also have to watch for is Elyssia and my father. They are worse than two children but we all are going to be watching out for you.

He took her hand in his and looked at her some more. He knew the risks of falling for someone of a higher station maybe he was crazy to think that this would work but he was not willing to let them go. He did not want to be without them at all.

I know Nala is attached to me, and I did not realize to a little earlier just how attached I am to her. I heard her and all and almost left my meeting with Kiara and Losa to see what was wrong. Avery looked up at Chase and slowly nodded her head.

Loving Nala is easy for anyone...
Sarabella was stunned by Jacksons admission. He loved her. Her? How could he possibly love her when she was all that had taken his heart and crushed it like it was nothing before? Her heart pounded in her chest and her breathing became labored, every word that came from his lips rang of truth and she knew this because his eyes told her as much. Jackson was easy to read because his eyes truly were the windows to his soul. His kind, loving, protective, fierce soul.

She was still a little taken aback by his confession, and she had to stop herself from thinking that maybe just maybe she stood a chance of getting her farmboy and her chickens... but Jackson was no farm boy, oh no he was so much more and she had known since her very first meeting with him that he was not like anyone else. Since day one he protected her and Nala both, he had almost died for them and even when he was recovering from the injuries he sustained, the price he paid for his protectiveness, he would still try and protect her making it seem like what happened wasn't as bad as she knew it was. He took such great care and interest in all that Nala did, and when she watched him with her it was so easy to see that he did love her niece.
You want Nala and I to return to Pallia with you once Hallia is under Iallia rule? You would want us both knowing how much baggage we carry with us? Especially me? Jackson...
He dark eyes searched hers as her eyes searched his and in those dark eyes Sarabella found what she thought she would never be able to have. She found love and security. In those eyes she saw life.
Who better to protect us both than the man that I love and trust more than I can say with both our lives.

It had not been an easy time. He knew some looked at him as the bastard mage's brother, or the other bastard mage's son. He wondered if he would ever be seen as more. It amazed him at times that Devyn could still feel the same way about him as he did about her. He knew some might see him as a reminder of losing one of their own. There were a lot of thoughts running through his head as he walked to the window and started looking out. He had all he had ever wanted right there. He had an amazing woman, and he just did not know how he had managed to win the love of someone so perfect for him. He had smiled thinking of their first meeting where they both had gone for the same jewel. He had wanted it for Avalyn, who had been there in town but he had not known for sure it was her. His sister was proof not everyone in their family was bad. She had been raised differently though. These people trusted her because she was one of them. He was an outsider. His brother tried to raise him to hate the ones that he blamed for their father's death. Wouldn't anyone do the same thing in the same position? His father and brother tried to bring ruin to these lands that he was now calling home. What was strange was he did not feel the least bit of anger over either death knowing that his brother and father both had let anger get the better of them. He shook his head he had to stop thinking in the negative and think on the positive. All he could do was continue on like he had, living each day to where he could do it. Where he could live one day at a time.

[Devyn Deamons]

Devyn woke up in the night to an empty bed, she found herself waking up that way more and more often as of late but it didn't upset her, she knew that Kyle was still wrestling with the fact that it had been his brother that had caused so much harm to Pallia, her King and Queen and her family, especially her family. Waking up alone didn't upset her, Kyle would never truly leave her unless she forced him to and it would be a cold day in hell before that happened. Sitting up she turned and put her feet on floor, and arm reached out for the purple robe of silk at the foot of the bed. Slipping into the robe she stood up, tied the tie and padded across the floor. He was at the window again, looking over the lands of Pallia, lands that he himself had risked so much to help protect, lands that were now his own. She went behind him resting her head on his back, her arms snaked around his waist.
Nightmares again or you can't get your mind to settle?
She kissed the bare skin of his back sighing against him.
Kyle you cannot keep going on like this. No one blames you for what happened, you have spoken with my father and mother both enough times to know that you have never been blamed, that your place is with us, and that my place is with you... what is it love that will not allow you to let this go?

Are you serious we are having a boy? Yes both of his Grandpa's would have loved him being named after them. If he ends up with their natural sword ability Benny better watch out.

He smiled even wider and kissed her again, he was happy. He could not help it at all. With a grin he looked up at her and he held her close to him.

I know you have never liked the way you look especially with the way people talk but you are beautiful and I love you just the way you are. I can not help it, maybe I am a bit biased but I do not think so. So are you sure it is a boy? How long have you known.

He was not even thinking while he was talking he was rubbing a hand over her stomach. With a grin he watched her and stayed close to her. He loved spending time with her. Especially time alone with her and talking about their family. Their child that was on the way. He could not help but smile when thinking of the life that they created that was growing inside of her. A life that to him was more amazing than anything.

He had been nervous for a moment then he was smiling. He grinned and kissed her again.

Loving Nala is easy, she already fits in well here. Why do I love you? I love you because of who you are Sarabella, I knew I was getting too close to you and to Nala but I could not help it. Being with you always had me at ease. I was a bit worried about telling you because I was not sure you would feel the same way. I know you want a farmboy and chickens. Well I am sure we can get enough land for a farm but I know nothing about them. If you want chickens then so be it we will have chickens, and cows and whatever else you want. We will need a dog, Nala needs a dog of her own. Some would think me out of my mind but I want us to be a family, you, Nala and I. We will just have to find a way to get Ellysia and my Father to stop fighting at least for long enough for a ceremony if you decide to marry me.

He grinned at her and he had his arms around her and was looking at her. To him she was amazing she had power that she did not want but had a heart to want to make things right for so many.

We can still bring chickens to people in Hallia too or eggs or both. I know how important that is to you. I know Ialia is Nala's home and we would go there to visit too. But yes I want you and Nala to come back here with me when all that is taken care of and be my family.

He smiled at her and leaned and kissed her, his arms stayed wrapped around her.

I can not think of anyone else I would want in my life more than you. I wonder what the little one will think of all of this.

Jackson do you know what you are saying?
Sarabella couldn't believe what she was hearing and couldn't with a clear mind allow Jackson to think along the lines that he was thinking. How did she end up in such a mess? Oh wait she thought, that's right... you were born Sarabella that's how.
Do you hear yourself Jackson? You're talking of marriage and being a family. That is not only an enormous undertaking... but Jackson... I don't even know if it is possible. Hallias' fate does not just rest with my decisions. The Royal Nations have to agree to the transfer of power of Hallia to Iallia and they may not agree for the simple fact that Iallia is already the second most powerful of the Nations. Power scares people into acting in ways they might not before, look at Jason... Pallia had grown to powerful in his eyes...
Trying to explain her brothers actions was pointless, Sarabella knew this, what Jason did was inexcusable and unforgivable.
You're right Jackson, I do have a throne to claim. A throne I never wanted, but one I may never be rid of, how could I ever ask you to leave the life that you have built for yourself, I have seen how hard those of the Elite must work, the standards to which you are all held to and for me to even think to ask for you to leave all of this behind if I am to be Queen, it is just as unforgivable as what my brother did.

I know exactly what I am saying Sarabella. Being a family does not rest on what anyone else decides other than you and I. I do not care what anyone else has to say about it. I already know you are the one I want to be with. I do not care what damn title you have over your heard. We will cross that area when we come to it.

He smiled looking at her his hand touched her face gently.

You are not asking me to give up anything. I am finding a way to have what I want and need. I mean it Sarabella. Don't push me away thinking it is what is best for me because you may have to take a silly trip down into something you do not want but who is to say you can not have what you want to also.

He took her hands in his and he leaned in close and kissed her again. He looked at her and smile.

Listen ot me Sara I do not care about any position or anything like that. What it is about is being with the person that I am not willing to let of. I know this is not what you would want and all and all we can do is take everything a day at a time.

[Kyle Runtsor]

I am not sure why I can not just let it go as people have told me I need to do. Maybe it is because of how much destruction my brother tried to bring to these lands, and all that happened because of him, and the people he got mixed up with. I know your family does not blame me, but I blame me. I still wish there was more I could have done.

He turned and put his arms around her and kissed her deeply. He leaned his head on her shoulder.

I know it will get better. I am sorry you have woken up alone but I am never far. Just needed to try and settle my mind. I know I can not keep going on like this so I am hoping to that it will stop soon and I can find the rest that I need to.

He held his arms around her and kissed her again and led her back to the bed knowing she needed some rest, and that he could use some rest too.

Of course I'm sure. Stryders sure so I'm sure. Ran into him a bit ago and he let it slip. You are going to have a son Chase, so that means no more pity parties or anything like that ever again understand me? No doubts about what kind of father you will be are allowed because quite frankly I will be busy raising your son and won't have time to put up with that kind of bullshit from you like I do now.
Avery wasn't being mean or anything else, in fact this was the first time she could actually talk to Chase about the doubts he used to have about himself without getting angry. So much changed over the course of the war and everything in between that she saw the changes in him and all of those changes seemed to be for the better. For that she was grateful because she really thought if he started down that path that he used to walk so often, she was going to kill him herself.
Now can we please go up to the hall? I haven't see my Uncle since he's been back and I'd like to at least be able to look at him without wanting to stab him in throat, that whole bit of bullshit with Alistar really had me raring and ready to sneak out at night and just kill the son of a bitch and I swear the only thing that stopped me was knowing how hard everyone was working to get my Uncle back in the body he belonged in.

You have to care what damn title is over my head as you put it and you have to start caring right now because in a few days time I will be Queen of Hallia Jackson. We've reached the crossing point Jackson.
Nalas laughter rang out and Sara saw her now trying to tackle Lucian Deamons to the ground. She was amazed at her nieces fearlessness and part of her wished to be that young again, to be free of all the worries and troubles of the grown up world.
I'm not trying to push you away, please I've invested too much of myself into you to push you away and even if I tried I think it would hurt me more than help the situation any. I know when to fight and when not to believe it or not. Being with you is something I want to fight for, not fight against. You have to understand though, it is going to be one hell of a fight and it will take time for us to both get what we want, to get all that we want for one another and for Nala. I said before I won't fight you coming to Hallia but you have to remember Jackson, you cannot just step into a situation whenever you please, you cannot act on your emotions or react to something you might hear or see that you don't like, some matters cannot always be solved with fists, threats or by the end of a sword. Whatever does happen when we return I just want you to remember that I am going to do everything I can for you to have all that you need.

He knew that the times were going to be rough on her. The more he found out about what she had to go through with things the more he knew he was not going to let anyone make her go back there. He would just sit there and hold her and listen if she wanted to talk. If she did not want to talk he would just sit there holding her. Much like he was holding her at the moment. He smiled and ran his fingers through her hair and kissed heer neck.

How are you feeling today my love? I know there have been some tough days for you. You and I are going to do just how we have been doing getting through each one as they come.

He smiled looking at her he could not help but smiile so much ha happened it was those things that also made him realize how much he needed her

What more do you honestly think you could have done?
Devyn asked the question sitting up with her knees drawn to her chest and her chin resting on her knees. She looked at Kyle and could see how his brothers actions affected him, he looked so worn and even defeated to a point. It bothered her that he let guilt eat away at him the way he did over something he really had no control over.
I know you never go far, I don't get up because of some great need to find out why you've left our bed, I already know why you do it, I get up to be there for you, to be there with you and to help you come back from the dark places I know you go when you think Kyle. Just like you were there for me and with me and helped me get through losing my sister. Saydie thought you were a good man Kyle and she knew from the start you were nothing like your brother, that you were pretty damn courageous to go against him the way you did. Do you know why my father doesn't blame you or why my mother won't let anyone say a bad word against you? Because nothing in this world can be as hard as going against your own flesh and blood and that is exactly what you did.
Devyn laid back down beside Kyle propping up on one elbow and her free arm went across his chest, her hand rested over his heart.
Maybe you should try talking to Losa and Kiara. If not them, then maybe my grandfather. They all know possibly better than anyone else what it is to have to deal with family and what it means to be betrayed by that family. Your brother betray you when he took the path that he did Kyle, that cannot be easy to deal with. Let us all help you get through this the same way you have helped us.

[Iliana Shadow]

Emalina is trying to make me insane.
Iliana made the statement in such a matter of fact way that it could have been laughable were it not true. Ema, gods bless her pure little heart had been almost bouncing around the halls of the palace in Iallia, Autumnvale, for the last week filled with an excitement that Iliana found astounding.
Four times James... today alone she has had me meet with the seamstresses four times for the gown she wishes me to wear when I stand next to her during her wedding...
James kissed her neck and she nestled closer to him rather than moving away like she had been doing. The days since Pallia was returned to rightful rule had passed slowly, some days were good and barely a thought was given to the events that had transpired, some days were bad and Iliana could barely stand to look at herself in a mirror, but through all those days, good or bad, James was there with his endless patience and understanding. His protective nature, especially when anything involved her grew in leaps and bounds and this is what helped Iliana to start to break free of the numbed daze she lived in.
She claims that my gown needs to be a perfect representation of who I am and what I mean to her. I told her to just allow me to wear my robes then and you would have thought I told her I preferred to wear nothing at all. So black robes are out of the question...
Turning so she was facing him Iliana smiled a soft smile, there was no arrogance in her expression.
Today is a good day beloved, you do not need to worry or hover, though I am very glad to see you. How has your day been?

At least I have it easy as far as what I need to wear. I know Ema seems like something that just keeps going and going. Gets a little annoying but I can understand her excitement. She is right love that the robes would not be a good idea. Also that you need something else that will represent you well.

He smiled and looked at her and kissed her he played with her hair some while they talked. At times she would pull away from his affections but he was thankful when she did not this time. He grinned at her and his hand brushed her cheek gently.

Well my day is done. I have the men going through some exercises and such and Mikel is overseeing things for today. He is enjoying more responsibility. As I know I will need someone to watch over things sometime in the future. Why not let him start when I am not too far away. I mean Zhulin will watch over it too, but still. So for the rest of the day I am yours. I was thinking we could go somewhere, and if Emmy can not find you she can not make you do any more dress stuff today.

He smiled he had something planned for them but it was up to her. He would not push matters he had missed being able to just spend time with her.

I mean if you are up for an outing with me that is. It seems like it is going to be nice the rest of the day. His head leaned on her shoulder.

I know not everything can be solved with fists and swords and all that. But when it comes to protecting you and Nala, I will use the means necessary. It isn't that Emalina is annoying, far from it, her joy is there for all to see and it does me good to know that she was barely touched by Alistars evil. I know full well that Ema is first born and she takes her role as the older sister very seriously but my sister has a tender heart and a child like innocence about her that I would never wish to see taken from her.
Iliana could never imagine Emalina being anything other than who she was in that time and space, the present. Her sister was born of light, there was a goodness that radiated from Emalina so strongly that it could almost be seen by the naked eye.
