The elf sighed, she knew he was right, Cori should hear it from her and no other but how was she supposed to tell the girl without making it sound like she had gone off the deep end as Condrik had so lovingly pointed out before? Guess there really was no way around it, she would tell Cori and let the girl make up her own mind. Rayne went right into the Great Hall and searched for Cori, it wasn't that hard to spot her daughter, her hair alone made her stand out from all the others, it was so blonde it was almost white. She saw her daughter was just about through with her meal and motioned for her to come to her. Cori seeing her mother smiled and Rayne was still amazed at how much the girl looked like her, walked like her, moved like her even at times talked like her. Cori approached her and the elf put her arm around her slender shoulders. Come with me little one, I think now is the time I have that talk with you. She led Cori up to her old room and had her sit on the bed, the elf sat next to her and took her hand. Alright kid, I'm not going to play games or talk to you like you're a child, I know your smarter than that and that you have an understanding beyond your years, can you deal with that? Cori looked at her and nodded. 'Course I can, that's what I've been tryin' to get Da to understand Raynie, he sees me as this little girl but I don't think he gets it yet... The elf almost smirked, Condrik didn't understand a great many things, but she wasn't going to tell Cori that. I'm sure it's difficult for him Cor, you aren't an ordinary girl you know, and that's not a bad thing, just have some patience with him, cut him some slack when he gets a little too protective alright? He'll understand fully in time. Cori, I'll gladly talk you about anything you want anytime you want but not right now. Right now I need to talk to you about something that is going to be happening today in a little while.. Her daughter cut her off and the elf didn't know exactly how to deal with what her daughter told her. I've been followin' you yanno. I know about this Valiant and you're going to be his wife, I know about that elf from Carelith. I know having me almost killed you and I know about Lyon Everwood and everything. I know what Da said too, been followin him too. Everyone wants to try and keep secrets from me because they think I shouldn't know but yanno what? I should have some say in my own life. It's shite Raynie, if Valiant is going to treat you good, hell I don't care how long ya knew the man, I just want someone to take care of you and yanno Da really should think before he opens his mouth. You need to think too Raynie, sorry that's just how I see it. I'm not talkin' about this whole married thing either, I think maybe you and Valiant will be good for each other, what I am talking about though is... Cori sighed ran a hand through her hair and looked up at the elf so seriously there were barely any traces of a girl in her face, Rayne was looking into the face of a young woman. I think it might be better if you two just don't talk at all. He's angry and so serious and you well truth is your wild and carefree from what I have seen. I know you can be serious when it's called for but you two just aren't good together on any level yanno know what I mean? How funny that her daughter was talking to her like she was the child. Rayne was impressed but at the same time she knew Condrik would not be happy knowing his daughter was tromping through the shadows following all of them. Cori, you know one of us are going to have to tell your Da about this, you shouldn't be using the shadows to listen in on people. I can see why you would but that doesn't make it right. As for everything else, I wish you didn't hear all that you did but now that you have there really isn't anything anyone can do about it. I just hope you can understand why I did some of the things that I did and why I am doing what I am doing today. Cori shrugged and then hugged her. I get it, I really do. Thank you for telling me yourself Raynie. I have to go back now, I'll see you later alright? Cori kissed her cheek and was off like a shot. The elf wanted to talk more but Cori was in training and couldn't be shown any true special favors otherwise it would start a bruhaha that the elf really wasn't up to being a part of. When Cori was gone the elf washed and dressed in the new uniform of the Elite she found in one of the drawers. She braided her hair and set out for the clerics. There was no point in making a big fuss out of the day over something that most would see as insanity anyway, though the elf was excited she wasn't going to admit it to anyone. There was just something about Valiant Panton that made her actually start thinking about the future instead of just living moment to moment.
