Bellum Lupus Roll Call

Postby Blu » Wed Jun 15, 2005 12:49 pm

Following the footsteps of both Mo'pri's illustrative heathen guilds and fellow Letian cohorts... I present the roll call for Bellum Lupus.

Pretty sure we've been absent for 4 years. If not more.

Since many of us had alts that we used in Mo'pri. If you like post what that alt was.

I was Pak.

(O and Rai...I jacked your poll. Blatant plagerism! :p)

I was in BL for a while.

I was the king that (thinks) two barney guilds took out to make an example of the hits that were being made. It was fun.

Bellum Lupus was the 2nd guild I was ever in. I joined about 3 weeks after I started playing this game. I can't even remember when that was but I'm thinking it was around 1999 because I had just moved to Alum Creek and that's when I found the game. I had joined Seekers of the Key my first week with the game and a couple weeks later joined Bellum Lupus. It must have been a month or so later that Ke'Fen became the GM. It was only a month or so after that when Beast and Li and some others left the guild to form TR, or whatever they called it. Man, we had some awesome AGMs during that time, even after we lost a lot to TR. Had Morg running Sorcery, had Korath running wars. The best was that when the guild would hit, then we'd have another wave hitting several hours later when all the European players would come online.

Bellum Lupus is the first guild I ever was GM of. Hehehe, I think I also hold the record for shortest period of being a GM since I had it for a couple of hours before I got banned, keeping the tradition of BL GMs being banned from the game. That's when the period of Lost Moose being GM began. I was co-GM with him for a while. That's also the time period when Moosey and I discovered that we had a young lad in the guild that was so eager to please and wanted to move up in the ranks. I think everyone knows Calis of course. If you ever see him online, you should ask him about his interview for the position of AGM of New Players. Moosey's idea for that interview was just hilarious....I only wish someone had kept a copy.

I wonder how many times we warred with FLAME during those days? And it seemed like every other war was against Inverness, and later INCA. Seemed like they were our counter guild for a long time.

Come to think of it, Belllum Lupus spawned an awful lot of successful guilds. TR was the first, but then came Divine Light and shortly after that came CRoW. Speaking of which, has anyone seen Aura? She is a BL alum and I know she used to live up near Marion, Ohio. I really miss her and would love to talk to her again. I don't remember her playing name but she was the GM of CRoW.

hehe, aye, I remember BL. I am honored to be a founding member and former Co-Gm/war AGM.

I still have a picture that Blu made of BL on my computer.

I ran by the name of Lupus

Its kinda neat though....BL was created to be a runoff of DoW for Maxim/Mo'pri, etc. In the beginning it was ran by just DoW leadership, but then as things got hectic for Ryderz trying to GM both guilds, I took over DoW and Ryderz focused on BL. After I took over DoW, my time limit restricted me from playing in BL very much.

I did return though to help out Blu/Pak when he took it over from Moose. I volunteered my time and help and co-gmed it with him. I believe it was during that time that the Gods were being switched to the prophets. I remember Blu and I working on making up a new story for the guild in order to fit it in with the game.

Then of course, BL and DoW made another guild for LGS by the name of WOLF :) That was fun. I miss those days

anyway, not playing now...no time to do it properly.

hey Blaze....yeah WOLF was a fun as hell LGS guild.

BL had some of the CoRites in it before RKoR came to existence. Was there for a month or so. It was the big Leto guild...

Pretty sure you were in both. Kind of hazy there. But I think you spent more time in DoW. I kinda remember all the pig-dog jokes we made.

I was the GM after Ke'fen. Then I had to take a sab shortly and handed reigns over to Moose (and you too Couselor). I think I made you guys co-gms. Not sure that part is kind of hazy.

The most important project I remember from that was our trimming of BL membership. BL had become to huge to manage. The one incident I remembered that truly kicked it off was me booting a member for refusing to make reparations for attacking a guilded kingdom we weren't at war with. He tried to claim his little brother took over his account. But refused to return the land because BL was a big guild and he thought that gave us the right to take what we wanted. I booted him and let the offended guild know that he was fair game and not under our protection. Ahhhh the memories...

When Moose took reigns during my sab, he was the driving force behind BL's trim. I'd like to thank him for that. So thanks Moose.

Then I came back and retook the reigns.

(Short insert of history here: This was shortly after the time that Moose and Counseler were banned. And from what I heard they gave reigns to Calis. Though lol I didn't believe it until Counselor told me how that came about last year when he came down to BR. But I believe they took the reigns back.)

Ran it as a co-gm with Moose. Then he left. Ran it as sole gm. Asked Blaze to come help out. Then we made the move to Evernight's Maxim. And then I left again leaving Morg and Daenerys in charge.

After that I'm not sure what happened to BL. That's when I left for summer school in England. Finished off college. And went work full time. Didn't return until Blaze reformed DoW.

So if anyone can help fill in the history of the Morg/Dana BL term, it'll be greatly appreciated.

Heh. I think I'm the only BL gm (well Calis too I think and Blaze) to not be banned.

Another splinter group of DoW/BL was ICU (Insane Canine Unit). Which was pretty much started as a joke. But I heard Sheep ran with the idea for awhile in that Monarchy game.

Yeah, Moose and I had a unique habit of being banned. When you left you made Moose the initial GM and at that time I was the AGM of War (I think, since Korath may have been it and I was for Scum). Shortly after you named Moose you named me as his co-GM. Moose got banned in under a week for one of his classic posts and I took over the sole reins, supposedly until Moose could come back. But then I got banned a few hours later and passed the torch over to Calis mighty quick. I was reinstated, as was Moose, and we both continued the co-GM piece for a while. After several months of which Calis was doing most of the Dignitary work (remember we used to have an ambassador and all that) since he could sweet talk anyone to do whatever he wanted. Then Moosey was busy with with his girlfriend and stepped back for a bit. I was running everything with Calis pretty much until Krogoth enticed me away to join The Chosen Few. I think I stayed in TCF for a few months until Calis came up with the idea to start a new guild and we co-founded Divine Light together, though in truth Calis wrote the entire charter since his was much better than mine.

Bellum Lupus was so much fun because we were running between 40-75 members at all times. Always great. Divine Light was fun that way too but I always wished that we had founded it during the golden age when there were several more guilds the size of Divine Light. It wasn't as much fun to find fair wars when you had 60 members and only one other guild (FLAME) had close to that.

Had some fun with BL a while back. Including the funnest defensive war I've ever been involved in, when Decae gave the heathens a much higher turn rate, and they started working on dragging down my quad (ranked 1,2,3, and 5 -- Sick Puppy was a slacker). Was online when I finally went down after 10 days or so, and d/s'ed so they only got 300 acres/hit after thousands of turns spent. But got to play offense (using mob assaults, lol, was a parking lot by then) throughout the whole series. Was a blast, even though got dragged down into ignominy.

*edit* Zenpig -- Yeah, you were in BL, in its initial phase at least, as you were in the quad I just mentioned with me, the pup, and Dee.

That was back when Ryderz ran the show. I learned a lot from that guy -- he was very organized and had good GM tools -- that I would use later to GM ISA when it was around 70 members on only about a 1 hr/day average time commitment.

Stamar what was the crew you ran with in Mo'pri?

I remember running wars against ya'll. Which was why I was surprised when I heard you were in our guilds when they shifted to Evernight.

I liked LGS. And yeah, that first age we had quite a few who made it all the way to the end. I remember getting totally beat down and within like 2 scum attacks from dying. That night I wasn't going to bother checking in but I just said the heck with it and looked. I saw the news and it was down to like 30 peasants a hit. I high tailed it to the sorcery page and inspired and got back like like 25,000 peasants the first inspire. I don't remember who was doing the hitting but I think they were pretty pissed because it was like 5 kingdoms trying to do the scum kill and they had all run all but a few of their turns out trying to get me. Then when I came on they were all scum and defenseless with no turns and I had nearly full turns and a huge army. LOL, knocked out almost an entire guild that night. That first age in LGS was just awesome....and to think, I didn't even plan on playing that age.

Hehe, no knock on you, Blaze, but Ryderz toolkit was homegrown and he deserves credit for it. I made a few enhancements after that.

Ay Blaze did Ang1970 leave the game before BL formed? He was the DoW GM that I came into DoW under. Or did he stay but in a non-gm role?

I believe he stayed in an agmish role for the first age. It was soon after I returned to the game then (around the time that you joined DoW) is when Ang1970 stopped really playing. He came on a couple times as Precious Roy, but other than that, he disappeared. So I'm really not sure about the BL thing.
