about a year and a half ago, i hit hard times. my life turned upside down. the few times i came online, there was sart... and we talked. he was a great guy... he was one of the few people i ever talked to about personal stuff who played monarchy/evernight.

he was always able to see the lighter side of things, and give hope... to me... to other people as well, i'm sure.

sart was a great person. though i only knew him through a game... damn it... why him?

my condolences to you, his family. i know they are little compared to what you must be going through, and probably need. my apologies.

Wow. I never knew either...

Sartorious was an awesome guy. Dependable, optimistic, always willing to lend a hand. It's always sad to hear of things like this happening to the best.

My prayers are with his family.

I never knew or talked to Sart personally, but some of my best friends and people I respect most here considered him there friend and have very high opinions of him - and that tells me all I need to know about how good a person he was.

My sincere condolences to everyone touched by the corporeal loss of Sartorious - may he rest in peace, and may we all deal with the pain of his parting as well as can be...

As much as I hate surprises I know they are what keeps life interesting, keeps us on our toes. I know you were always there for those who needed to talk, I just didn't ever take advantage of that as much as I now wish I had. I know you are with us all now and so we will no longer need to use devices such as icq or computers to talk with you. I will always outright talk with you whenever I get a mind to.

This news is sort of a wake-up call to me. I haven't been the same as a player for now almost a year, I hope to make that up these next few months. Thanks for this thread, You and your family have my thoughts and prayers today and always.

My condolances to all family and friends.

Wow this is such a shock, I knew his health was poor, but it's still hard to hear when one of our own has passed.

Sartorius was such a nice guy, and great player.
He will be truly missed.

I never had the oppurtunity to chat with Sart, and I regret that now. He was a beloved member of this community, and this thread is a monument to that.

God bless.

I am absolutely floored right now. I never knew...

In my tenures with Inverness and later with INCA, I have had the pleasure to know and work with many fine players. Some of the best. Sartorious was one such.

Many faces came and went in INCA, but Sartorious was one that, since he joined us very near the beginning, stuck with us the whole way. He, along with a select few others, was the core of that guild. It's very heart and soul.

To put it simply, I cannot fathom playing without him.I dont know what else i can say....

To a great player, and an even better friend. You will always be remembered. I promise.

Heh.

I remember when I first found out -- he never told me directly. I was informed sort of a heads up, so I could help out anyway I could. I remember talking to him that next night, he just thanked me for what I've done with the game and left it at that.

Really don't know what to say - I can recall the few times I've had to deal with him, always polite - always understanding. As previously stated, he was one of the good guys.

Taylor - if you happen back by here please let us know if there is anything we can do for his family. We might not be the largest community in the world, but in situations like this we can all try and do what we can.

I wish I would of woken up a bit earlier -- but this weekend the game war functions will be left off. In memory of another fallen warrior.

Rest in peace man.

I have known of Sartorius ever sinse I can remeber. I don't believe I had ever spoken to him, but ya sort of get a feel for people just by reading their posts through the years. I regret I never had a chance to meet him last game for the short time I was a part of TNE. I was aware he was ill, but I did not have any idea it was life threatening.

My thoughts and condolances to Sartorius's family and to TNE, your grief is shared by many.

I’m so glad that you had a chance to meet and hold your daughter. Being a new father also, I know the joy that fills your heart when you meet your child for the first time.

My deepest sympathies go out to your family. Although we've spoken often, I wish that we would have taken the time to get to know each other better. Your guild, the entire community, and I will miss you.

What can you say, I was with him back in monarchy, he was one of the many that helped me to learn this game. Though over the ages there wasnt much contact, you could always count on certain people always being there to support a game we all love and one of those main people was Sartorius.

Like so many others, I am at a loss for words. Over the years Sarts has been a person that I came to greatly respect in Chaos/turmoil. We'd only crossed swords a few times, I am sorry we won't have another oppertunity. But our loss pales in comparison to that of his family, so to you I offer my deep condolences and prayers.

Like many here, I'm in shock.

I just wish there was something I could say that didn't feel so empty, so meaningless. I can't imagine the grief of his family and friends. At least his suffering has ended, though he masked it so well that so few people around here he knew for years had no idea.

I haven't talked to Sarty in a couple years, but as has been stated countless times, he was always just an awesome guy. I'm glad to have had the few entertaining conversations and wars with him that I did through the past few years.

You will be missed Sarty.

My heart and thoughts go out to his wife and children.

Taylor,
You have my deepest sympathies. All my encounters with Sart were like the others have said. He was one of the most truly pleasant people I have ever met in game or in real life. I can't imagine what it took to make that post for us, and it means a lot.

Events like this make me appreciate so much more how a lot of this community really is. I know there are abundant personality conflicts, but I know that so many more of us talk to each other on the phone, meet in person, help each other out... more than ever shows up on the boards.

When all the bitching and fighting is put aside, we really do care.

I did not know Sartorius, i did not have the pleasure... My condolecense to his family and friends... I know it was a difficult time for him, even though i didnt knew him, i know what he lived through, since Myself had to strugle with cancer a few years back. Was in quimo for little over a year... Luckily they where even to diagnose this since it was in their early stages. I know the thoughts that Sartorius went through, there not good ones. Its not a coincidence since im just only 18 years old, and that happened to me... It helped me to appreciate every second of life, since i had a second chance in it.

Im just glad that he was able to get married and see her daughter.

My condolecense
