Judgement's Calling

Walking in through the doorway, you see two large parchments encased in frames hanging in a great hall. Walking up to the first of them you find the charter:

Olandar, Father of the three gods that remain, had ruled for many a millennia. In the beginning he had paid close attention to all that transpired below in the mortal realm. The laws he created were to be followed by all. They were just laws, fair and fitting, allowing all whom followed them to live in peace.

But in time, things change ALL things change. Olandar grew too old and tired to maintain the mortal realm. He divided the responsibilities amongst his three children. The children, Barnabas, Leto, and Angelique were to work together to maintain the balance, and order in the realm. The three children spent more time arguing amongst themselves about how to do this, than actually paying attention to the realm itself.

Slowly members from all three of the races began to question the laws that had been laid forth. They no longer reflected the changes that were taking place in the realm. At one time what had been just, was now laughably unfair. Society is a living, changing thing in itself, never stagnant, and the laws and regulations must change with it.

Angelique, charged by her father Olandar with upholding the laws that had been set forth, had always done her best to fulfill her obligations. While believing that all laws must be followed, she had begun to see the need for changes within the laws themselves. Justice was no longer being served, the old laws corrupted by time and change.

Arguing constantly with Barnabas had time and time again proven to be a lost cause. Barnabas was too set in his ways, his limited perceptions. He only understood the "status quo", the natural order of how things had been under Olandar. His vision of "balance" blurred by his own greed for power.
She tried to reason with Leto, and was horrified with his perceptions. Law was to be scoffed; personal freedom should reign above all else. His agreement that things needed to change was not in the least comforting when she found out how far he wanted to take things. A society with no laws, no reason, would be in a constant state of war.

Giving up on her Siblings, she went to her father. The arguments over the changes needed within the mortal realm lasted for what would pass for months here. He would not budge; he would take no part in relieving the pressures the current system put upon the mortals. She could not believe he had turned his back on all he had created. Perhaps it was his age that had closed his mind, killing his compassion for the mortals he had once loved. The court system that once had promoted justice and equality eroded into serving only those with hereditary rights.

She put these things in the back of her mind, tried to just go about things as they were, but it would not stay there. She could see the constant injustice, and the effects it had the mortals. She had to do something, things had to change. With time nothing stays the same; the ones that try and keep things as they are eventually will be overturned. She returned to Olandar, begging him to let her break the hold Barnabas had on changing the laws, laws she was charged to uphold.

Olandar again would not budge; things would only change when Barnabas had decided to change them. Olandar announced that Barnabas was to take Olandar's throne when he was completely exhausted and ready to move on to the next realm. Angelique was incensed at this; this would condemn all justice in the realm. She could no longer accept this as the way it would be; she would sooner die than permit such an injustice to those whom had done no wrong. The time for a major change had come; Revolution was the only way to return Justice to the realms. A new court system needed to be implemented. New laws would be drafted, laws that would serve justice once again. Laws that could be changed when the time had come. With a fury she had not known herself capable of, she overcame and killed Olandar.

Some would call this very act a crime, a violation of what she was bid to uphold. It is only the fools that see things this way, the old laws had to be changed, and the now corrupt courts needed to be replaced with those capable of impartiality. The laws were unjust to those that followed them, and more and more others were forced to break them just to survive. Many lives are lost in times of revolt, none considered crimes, only an unfortunate part of righting the wrong that has spurred the revolt.

It is this same fury that she fights her brothers and the imposter goddess Oleana with today. She fights Barnabas unwilling to change the laws, and Leto's unending war against law itself, and the peaceful passiveness of Oleana. There will be peace when justice has been instilled once again through out the world. The new courts have been established, the new laws have been installed within. It is these new courts we serve, defending the court and executing the courts orders. We see the wisdom of Angelique's need to change the laws from time to time to insure justice. We see the need to enforce these laws without question, to prevent total chaos. It is a fine line, one that our goddess walks without wavering.

We are Angelique's champions; we are the mortal representation of the new and just courts and laws. We have gathered from the far reaches as she has commanded. Each of us starting separately, have come to join as one force under the courts direction. Together we shall do the bidding of Angelique's Court; we shall bring justice back to this realm. We lay our lives at the feet of the court, knowing they will be used to further the cause of justice. We shall not rest until justice prevails, and all persons that the courts have passed their judgment on have paid the price for their defiance of the court.

Your warning has been served, denounce your false gods, submit yourself to the court.

Judgment day has come, You hear its Call. Stand before the court and accept penance for your wrongs.

My heart will always be with JC. Was with Znick and TheLair (TL) as a rookie. We knew Uncas from other games before we came to Monarchy/Canon.

My quad in the current Monarchy manifestation is Judgments Calling in memory of the old guild.
