Before the game comes up, a few notes:
1) If you have a current RP thread active in Maxim and want it moved across, PM me. I'd like all RP to be 'current' - ie. set on the new island, so that other people can join in or actions elsewhere can influence it, but I'm happy to give people a week or three to catch up. Moved Maxim threads will be clearly marked as being outside of the current timeline.
2) There'll be a thread up by tonight which details the new setting, for starting your roleplaying and also for updating charters.
3) If you're thinking of GMing a guild in Covenant, please do so. The more variety in charters (and targets for war) the fresher things are, and the easier it is for people to find new RP partners (and new people to kill). There'll be no strict requirement for people to roleplay a set number of times per week, but GMs will be asked to make sure that their guild does have a decent RP presence on the boards.
More as I think of it/write it. Feel free to ask any questions you have.

Forum Rules:
Only admin or staff can create OOC threads. Any player-created OOC threads will be closed or removed, and the player may be warned. If you have OOC material you'd like to talk about, please do so in a suitable existing OOC thread, or over ICQ/email/PM to the appropriate staff member.
All posts in Covenant not done in OOC threads, must be in character, and in roleplay format. Any posts that do not meet this criteria will be edited or removed by a staff member.
If you have non-PG13 material, please mark the thread (or post) as such so that people don't open it at work, etc.
Do not write actions for other characters without the consent of their players - this is called "godmoding" and may lead to your post being edited by a staff member if a complaint is received. While it can be fun to play a powerful character, please keep your character's abilities to a realistic level - if one player is roleplaying a godly powerful character and the others in the group are farm labourers, it won't be so fun for the people who can't level a city with a quirk of their eyebrow.
Any OOC comments included in IC posts which are deemed to be inflammatory or too lengthy will be edited.

Guild Applications
Plagiarism - Will get your charter rejected immediately. Stealing another guild's story, or rules will not be tolerated. Stealing your story from published works is also likewise not permitted.
Stealing Guilds - There is a system in place where you may recover a guild that was previously approved, rather than waiting for someone to review it again. Stealing the password to recover a guild that is not yours is not allowed.
Duplicate Guilds - A guild may only exist in one Canon game ata time.
Contact Information - You must include some form of contact information in your charter. E-mail, ICQ number, AIM screen name, anything of that sort.
Guild Names - Put a little thought into them. "... of (deity)" and similar names won't be allowed.
Story Description - The more variety in stories, the more fun it is to interact with other guilds. Only so many people can have their villages wiped out by bandits and seek revenge holding their father's sword, after all
Also, please try to avoid direct interaction with any god in your story.
Tempers Ball Rules - Must be included in your charter, word for word. To make this easy, please copy/paste the following:
- Do not make an ass of yourself.
- Do not post bug reports on the boards, over ICQ, or in IRC unless asked specifically by staff.
- Do not post accusations of cheating on the boards. E-mail or PM one of the administrators with details.
- Do not spam or post redundant messages.
- Do not post kingdom numbers or kingdom names on the boards.
- Pornography, Piracy or other illegal material is not allowed.
- Do not post links or advertisements to hate or Anti-Evernight sites. This includes racial, ethical, or sexually related sites.
RP Rules - You may have requirements of your members that extend beyond basic forum rules. Spell them out. Include the consequences of not following your rules.
Application Procedures - What must a player do to be accepted in your guild? Do you want them to e-mail you and answer some questions, is just pushing the "join" button in game enough?
Ranks and Promotions - Spell out the rights and responsibilities of each rank in your guild. Also include the procedure for moving up the ranks.
Disappearing GM - What will happen if you, as the GM are unable to perform your duties unexpectedly, and for an extended period of time?
Images - In your charter, you may use up to a maximum of three images, with each image less than or equal to 35k in size.
HTML - You must use HTML in your charters, as a bare minimum the <BR> or <P> tags. If the person controlling guild apps comes across a solid block of text, they'll likely get a migraine by the third line in - if you need a hand with converting your charter to HTML, request help in this thread.
Disbandment - If your guild has been disbanded by administration for rules violations (this is VERY rare), don't expect to be accepted again for several months.
Harassing Us - Please give it a few days before contacting staff about guild applications. Sending repeated emails will not get your guild accepted any sooner
Enjoy the game.
